AkzoNobel is present in Italy since 1958 and operates in the market of products and coating systems for the building industry through Decorative Paints business unit, whose production center is located in Castelletto Ticino (NO), on Lake Maggiore.

 

AkzoNobel Deco is among the largest producers of the paint industry in Italy and offers a wide range of products for interiors, exteriors, decoration and protection for both the professional and for "do it yourself", including lines of paints, varnishes, glazes and pre-treatment for the surfaces.

SIKKENS, THE EXCELLENCE OF COLOR FOR THE ITALIAN HERITAGE

Sensitive to the cultural and artistic issues of Italy, AkzoNobel - through the Sikkens brand - has been a protagonist for over 30 years in important projects for the revaluation, recovery and protection of the Italian architectural and urban heritage.
The Color Plans of numerous historical centers of the country have become over time a cornerstone for the restoration of buildings and a guarantee for the respect of the chromatic tradition of historic buildings and monuments present throughout the Italian territory.
Among the main Color Plans we remember that of Portofino, Rome Municipio II, Turin, Trieste, Bergamo, Florence San Lorenzo's Quarter, and Caserta.

In the field of museums, Sikkens has also contributed realizing the interiors of the new exhibition space Gallerie d’Italia in Milan, with set up by architect Michele De Lucchi (2011 and 2012). In 2013 it was the turn of the Uffizi in Florence, with the opening of seven new halls dedicated to Roman painting of the first half of the sixteenth century and the works of Correggio, Parmigianino, Giorgione, Titian.  A more recent project collaboration is the one established with the Egyptian Museum of Turin, culminating in 2019 with a specific chromatic study for the setting up of the exhibition spaces on the occasion of the exhibition Invisible Archaeology.
