The Five to Nine daybed, designed by Milanese creative duo Studiopepe for Tacchini, is the first novelty of the 2020 collection unveiled by the brand.
In a mix of new designs, re-editions of historical products and updated versions of successful pieces already in catalogue, Tacchini stages a collection of upholstered furniture and accessories with a sophisticated soul, a manifesto of the perfect symphony between the excellent savoir-faire, that has always distinguished the company, and the exploration of new creative horizons. The 2020 collection narrates of suspended atmospheres, like poems with a timeless charm; the products float lightly between a deep-rooted past and a dreamed future, made of infinite possibilities, the result of a timeless creative intuition that does not chase trends but leaves a lasting mark.
This is how the Five to Nine daybed was born, inspired by those twentieth-century scenographies that surrounded the artists and served both as a physical and mental space of creative escape: the ateliers of the great masters of the past. The dormouse was invariably present there, an essential piece of furniture where the artist could relax, find inner peace and inspirations for his art projects. The Five to Nine daybed is the protagonist of an imaginary contemporary atelier, a sophisticated and timeless space, cradle of the artist’s creative genius, dreams, ideas and vocations.
Consisting of padded roller cushions along its entire length, and not only in the backrest and armrests as the most classic versions of this relaxing seat, the daybed is a product with a strong identity but hyper-versatile to different uses and destinations thanks to the different possible upholstery: leather, for a decisive effect that winks at the essential Bauhaus style, or mohair velvet for a greater sense of enveloping comfort and softness.
The seat structure, in natural or open-pore varnished wood with lathed legs, is completed by roller cushions individually inserted within the structure, an armrest (which can be transformed into a backrest depending on its position) and a round table with metal, marble or concrete top for a more textured effect. The daybed can be purposed as a relaxing or waiting seat, and thanks to the linear quintessence of its configuration it can be used individually or in an articulated composition of several elements and accessories, making it suitable for both domestic and public use.
