How the 2020 edition of Fuorisalone has been rethought?

Following the first digital edition launched on June 15, 2020, with the new projects of Fuorisalone TV and Fuorisalone Meets and the new channels of Fuorisalone Cina and Fuorisalone Japan, Fuorisalone renews and relaunches the project in a second edition in which the territory of Milan returns protagonist of the event.

From 28 September to 10 October 2020 new proposals, local events, talks, workshops and round tables will integrate the contents on Fuorisalone.it and Fuorisalone.tv in order to offer new promotional opportunities to brands, products and designers, all within the frame of the format proposed by the City of Milan under the name Milano Design City.

Milano Design City is the evolution of the Fall Design Week activated in autumn in the last four years by the City of Milan - which has seen Studiolabo as protagonist with the Brera Design Days festival - in order to investigate and explore issues related to the culture and the various forms of design, which fully share in contents and tools with the new Fuorisalone Digital platform.

What is Fuorisalone?

Fuorisalone is the set of events distributed in different areas of Milan on the same days when the Salone Internazionale del Mobile takes place, which is staged in the stands of Rho Fiera.

Every year, in April, Salone and Fuorisalone define the Milan Design Week, the most important event in the world for design. The Fuorisalone is not a Fair event, it doesn’t have a central organisation and it’s not managed by any Institution. It started spontaneously early in the 1980’s thanks to the will of companies working in the furnishing and industrial design sectors.

Currently, it is expanding into many related sectors including automotive, technology, telecommunications, art, fashion and food.

Today, the various exhibitors can organise independently or refer to Studiolabo, which gives assistance: from the search for the location to the definition of strategies and to special communication plans that can be chosen on Fuorisalone.it
