Brands KUSHIM CARING DESIGN

A revolutionary way of living safely and inhabiting spaces thanks to the latest technological innovations and scientific research

KUSHIM CARING DESIGN provides solutions for the natural sanitation of public and private premises. Experimental tests conducted at the Immuno-Biology Laboratory of the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences – L. Sacco, University of Milan, demonstrate that Kushim Technology is able to abate the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 inoculated in liquid phase on a surface.

Exposure of SARS-CoV-2 to air treated for 30 minutes with Kushim Technology, in a 28m3 environment showed 1 log (90%) reduction in viral load, which is greater than the natural decay of the virus verified in the control test, performed under the same conditions but without the use of Kushim technology.

The combined reaction of sanitised air by Uv-C light and the process of photocatalytic oxidation, together with an efficient filter makes it possible to destroy a range of pollutants, including bacteria, viruses, moulds and odours using an actively natural principle, which reduces the infectious load of confined spaces and the contamination potential of fixed surfaces.

KUSHIM CARING DESIGN technology is people-friendly and its application in the presence of people 24/7 is an important feature compared to other systems currently on the market. Being especially healthy for humans makes it uniquely commendable.

TECHNOLOGY

KUSHIM CARING DESIGN is a nature-based system combining different technologies that address a number of issues: on the one hand, synthetic Uv-C lamps act on the surrounding air in the same way as Uv-C in sunlight, illuminating the biological material of viruses made up of RNA and DNA. The action of the light breaks up the bonds making up the genetic material of the pathogens and allows the formation of secondary bonds which prevent its proper functioning, thereby blocking the ability of viruses to replicate, as is well demonstrated in recent studies by the Italian National Institute of Astrophysics, in collaboration with the University of Milan (research results are available on the contagio.online/livestreaming website). On the other hand, this technology also consists of a catalyst structure, made of a metal alloy with a honeycomb matrix, mainly composed of TiO2 (titanium dioxide) and other noble metals, through which the air is treated. This process forms hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) which, when diffused in a confined setting, allows for safe, effective and complete sanitation of the exposed air. Called PCO™ - Photo Catalytic Oxidation, this technology was developed and used by NASA for sanitising aerospace mission environments.

HISTORY

A clay tablet containing an administrative text from the city of Uruk, dating back to 3400-3000 B.C contains the Sumerian name “Kushim” which may refer to the proper name of an individual; the first human being in recorded history whose name we know. More than five thousand years later,

KUSHIM CARING DESIGN draws inspiration from that very name for a new interpretation of systems, processes and furniture components that take into account the coexistence of humans with pathogens (bacteria, parasites and viruses) in confined environments.
