Lodes unveils Croma, the new floor lamp designed by Luca Nichetto
The 2021 Milan Design Week sets the stage for the debut of Croma, the new floor lamp signed by multidisciplinary designer Luca Nichetto for Lodes.
Taking its name from the Italian word for a ‘quaver’ or ‘eighth’, Croma illustrates a musical note in its slender frame. In contrast to the classic floor lamp, which typically opens out at the top, Luca Nichetto and Lodes turned the frame on its head to create a revolutionary product. Available in four unique finishes, Croma offers two metallic ombré effects that fade from green to black and from bronze to nickel as well as two matte shades in solid white and black, which have a texturised finish. Discarding the floor power switch, Croma features a ring positioned halfway up the stem which allows the user to switch the lamp on and off and to utilise its dim to warm function. Overall, Croma embodies Lodes’ ethos – considered design with powerful and personalised lighting that prioritises the end user.
Other products on display in Milan, at supersalone and La Casa Fluida by Elle Decor Italia, include Cima by Marco Dessí, JIM by Patrick Norguet, Aile and Easy Peasy by Luca Nichetto, as well as Random Solo by Chia-Ying Lee and Puzzle Mega.
Puzzle Mega is one of the pieces that has recently been expanded - the product now offers new matte finishes that warm up its sleek, linear design, allowing for a range of decorative possibilities. Available in white, black, taupe and red, users can combine diverse colours, shapes and sizes to create a unique wall or ceiling composition to match their style and setting.
Following Lodes’ recent rebrand, the portfolio of lighting exhibited demonstrates Lodes’ global remit through collaborations with internationally renowned designers, in addition to their refreshed approach to manufacturing innovation and contemporary design, marking 2021 as a new era for the family-run brand.
