Brands RUBNER HAUS

The history of the Rubner Group began in 1926 with a small water-powered sawmill in Chienes, near Brunico in Alto Adige. Today the Rubner Group is one of the main European realities operating in the wood construction sector and includes a large number of companies with which it oversees the entire production chain: wood industry, wood structures, wood doors and windows, wood houses and large turnkey projects. With more than 25,000 buildings realised in 57 years of activity, Rubner Haus is the Rubner Group company specialised in the construction of single and two-family wooden houses. Living in a wooden house means recovering a balanced relationship with nature. For us, wood is the starting point for sustainable living. It is the most natural and healthy material possible for creating a living space. This is why Rubner houses use the various components of the tree: wood, cork and wood fibre. Cork is an excellent natural insulator and, at the same time, it is impermeable to water, resistant to fire, pests and heat, breathable and anti-mould. Wood fibre is free of chemical additives, is sound absorbent, retains heat for a long time and has an extraordinary durability. Rubner wood walls do not emit chemical compounds into the home environment that are harmful to health, and being breathable, they guarantee the natural regulation of humidity and a high level of bioclimatic comfort inside the building. With great benefit in the energy field: Rubner houses consume 20% less energy than a newly built house in traditional material, which means not only lower heating and air conditioning costs, but also a 20% reduction in annual CO2 emissions. Building with wood can reduce the CO2 emissions of buildings by half. During photosynthesis, trees absorb CO2, store carbon and release oxygen. In cultivated forests, such as PEFC-certified forests, trees are felled before they can rot and carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere. Every wood product is a CO2 storage tank: 1 m3 traps about 1 tonne of CO2. This is extraordinary, considering that an average-sized car releases about 3.2 tonnes of CO2 in a year. Considering also that the construction material for a wooden house grows back in just 15 seconds.
