Zanellato & Bortotto sign a new piece for Louis Vuitton's Objets Nomades collection

Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto, founders of the Treviso-based Zanellato/Bortotto studio, have designed LANTERNE for Louis Vuitton, a celebration of travel inspired by summer nights. Lanterne consists of a honeycomb woven leather cage finished with wood and hardware. Cordless and therefore portable, it contains a removable and rechargeable LED light with a frosted glass bulb.

The project is part of Objets Nomades, a collection of furniture and objects inspired by the theme of travel, for which Zanellato/Bortotto had already designed the Mandala screen. Since 2012, Louis Vuitton has invited several world-renowned designers to imagine experimental but strictly functional pieces, including India Mahdavi, Marcel Wanders, Patricia Urquiola, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Atelier Oï.

From a hammock to a folding stool, from an armchair to a screen: each limited edition piece is the result of the encounter between the designer's artistic vision and the creative skills of Louis Vuitton's craftsmen. Distinct skills that give life to completely new travel objects of great visual and emotional impact.

The collection is on sale in Louis Vuitton shops worldwide, but can also be admired in 3D thanks to Augmented Reality on the page dedicated to the Objets Nomades project.
