On the Unsustainable Weight of Emptiness - Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia
From April 4 to 13, 2025, With the arrival of Milan Art Week 2025 and subsequently Design Week, the common spaces of Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia are ready to welcome the exhibition project “On the Unsustainable Weight of Emptiness,” curated by Domenico de Chirico.
In line with this year's Fuori Salone theme “Mondi Connessi”, Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia embraces the idea of a fluid dialogue between art, design and hospitality. The installation thus becomes a meeting point between different creative languages, reflecting the brand's desire to be an interpreter of a contemporary and open vision, in which connections between people, cultures and disciplines are at the center of the experience. Within the hotel's spaces, art is not only displayed, but experienced: a natural extension of the hotel's identity, able to tell Milan as a crossroads of international inspirations and shared visions.
The exhibition takes the form of a moment of reflection on the dialogue between contemporary art and design, in a context that invites us to cross disciplinary and perceptual boundaries. The selected works, conceived in harmony with the hotel's architecture, offer a visual and sensory experience that combines aesthetic, material and conceptual research. With this exhibition, the Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia positions itself as a landmark by representing the address of choice for art and design lovers.
The group show involves three artistic realities that are heterogeneous among themselves but united by a profound attention to matter, form and the concept of transformation:
Chiara Crepaldi (Legnano, 1993) - Sculptor and chiseler, she lives and works between Milan and Paris. After studying at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she collaborated with important entities such as the Pomodoro Foundation, Fonderie de Coubertin and Fonderia Mapelli.
Filippo Moroni (Castiglione del Lago, 1996) - Painter, lives and works in Milan. His research investigates the tension between the body and pictorial matter, resulting in ambiguous, opulent and visually dense works.
Sartorialitica - A multidisciplinary project that stems from the desire to preserve and reinterpret artisanal knowledge through design. Its works are distinguished by a textural narrative that blends technique, tradition and contemporary vision.
“We are thrilled to collaborate on a project that celebrates art and design during such a vibrant time for the city of Milan,” says Stefano Ronchi, Radisson Hotel Group's Head of Marketing and Communications Italy. ”This marriage of creativity, innovation and hospitality perfectly reflects Radisson's values and our commitment to creating unique experiences for our guests, in tune with the artistic and cultural realities of the area,”
“On the Unsustainable Weight of Emptiness, on the occasion first of Milan Art Week 2025 and then of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, celebrates the creative encounter between contemporary art and design“-curator Domenico de Chirico continues-”Here form, materials, visual experimentation, harmony and functionality come together, giving rise to new visual and sensory experiences that challenge traditional boundaries and invite critical reflection on the importance of the balance between aesthetics and substance.”
“On the Unsustainable Weight of Emptiness” is part of the official calendar of Milan Art Week 2025 and the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, contributing to the reflection on key issues such as the interaction between art and space, cultural sustainability and the value of the creative gesture, and puts the Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia on the map of art and design lovers.
