Since 1917, the Swiss watchmaker has paid special attention to the world of design, with innovative materials and elegant shapes.
The relationship between Rado and the world of design is an enduring one, made up of prestigious collaborations with leading international designers. Research into form and innovative, durable materials, such as high-tech ceramic, are combined to create timeless watches.
One example is the Ceramica model, launched in 1990 and redesigned in 2016 by German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic, who also collaborated with Rado in 2017 to create the first Ceramica Automatic. It is a minimalist-style watch re-proposed in a contemporary guise. Its clean lines and slightly curved silhouette will catch the eye on your wrist. Lightweight, scratch-resistant and exceptionally comfortable.
Another homage to the world of design is the True Thinline Les Couleurs™ Le Corbusier. This is a series of watches in nine unique, vivid and vibrant colours taken from French architect Le Corbusier's legendary Architectural Polychromy. These timepieces are made of hi-tech ceramic: each colour is produced in a limited edition of 999.
True Square, finally, is the name of the collection that saw the collaboration of four international designers: YOY, Formafantasma, Tej Chauhan and Thukral & Tagra. The designers were invited by the Swiss watchmaker to design four watches that share, as the name of the collection suggests, a square shape.
The year 2022 marks the arrival of the new Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Diver, a modern evolution of a great classic now available with an 80-hour power reserve and high level of water resistance according to strict ISO 6425 specifications. Built to the unparalleled standards of Swiss reliability, this model features a Rado R763 movement housed in a stunning hi-tech ceramic one-piece case that is both scratch-resistant, hypoallergenic and virtually unscratchable, ready to take on any challenge, in the wilderness or in everyday life.
