Do not sink in your chair!
Young designers’ works show how to let creativity stand up.
Holly Warren narrates the creative process in which her young students are immersed during a Think Tank session.
Founded in 2015 as part of the nursery school at St. Louis Caviglia, the Think Tank is a setting created to celebrate, stimulate, enhance, and develop creativity through connections. It is designed by the students and the atelierista. Initially inspired by Loris Malaguzzi’s educational approach, it also embraces Maria Montessori and Rudolf Steiner’s methods creating a multi perspective environment. It has evolved into what the children have described as “the place where your ideas come true.”
The Think Tank never requests, it proposes, shares and inspires its community through an ecology of education. A constant interaction with the human and physical environment.
From this creative environment, a unique interpretation of design has emerged. This year the very young designers, aged 3 to 5, sat in a physical and symbolic circle and imagined and then gave life to their idea of a chair.
