TACCHINI FLOCK
On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2023, Tacchini teams up with Formafantasma again to pursue a journey that seeks sustainability. At Capsule Plaza, the brand presents Tacchini Flock, a project installation conceived and curated by Formafantasma that introduces a new sustainable production system focusing on the circularity of materials. Reworking upholstered seating from the inside, Formafantasma introduces a more sustainable, nature-based process for the manufacture of four iconic Tacchini designs, with a technique inspired by antique mattress production, using surplus sheep’s wool to replace industrial foam. Le Mura, Costela, Five to Nine and Lina thus became the protagonists of an innovative prototyping phase for the brand. The exhibition reveals the process and the research conducted by Tacchini and Formfantasma to ensure comfort and respect the design of the products, while spearheading a new manner of fabrication that reflects modern environmental concerns.
