Vectors & Vertices

There are many projections about the look and feel of future homes. Are we all living in urban environments? Are we more connected to nature? Is our life being taken over by technology? The future is uncertain, but design can provide possible answers with the help of trends and research.

The Vectors & Vertices exhibition is an immersive experience where guests enter an apartment of the future in one of the upcoming neighborhoods in Milan. Walking around the exhibition makes you feel, see, and think about different possible futures.

This exhibition provides possible answers to the future of the domestic space, all individually by different designers with different outlooks on the future. But all related to one certainty: the home environment is about to change. 

The design projects involve connections inside and outside the apartment. They occupy all the areas of day-to-day life. Relaxing, working, eating and wellness. 

As well as thinking about the amenities of the future: How do we cope with light, water, and invisible data?

It showcases not only the home environment, but also the connections to the local environment around, the neighbourhood, the culture and artisans.

Connections

Through generations we have seen our day to day lives change. Changes that connected, disconnected or re-connected people. Not only within our society, but also in relation with our environment, technology and spirituality. Young generations have seen rapid changes over the last decades. 

Now is the question: How do these new vectors connect to the vertices of the future? With what do they connect, and with what medium? What is the starting point, and what will be the end? 

Connected designers

This exhibition connects designers from all over Europe together, as well as being patronaged by two design schools: Politecnico di Milano and TU Delft. Together, they lay out the future of connections for our homes with 12 different projects.
