A new generation of domestic objects designed to embody artificial intelligence, envisioned for Alessi by students from the Master’s programmes in Product & Furniture Design at Istituto Marangoni Milano Design, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Technology.

Through light, movement and sensory responses, AI takes shape as enigmatic and poetic artefacts that inhabit the home as sensitive presences, transforming invisible technology into a tangible experience and redefining the future of relationships between people, objects and intelligent systems.

An oracle inspired by a flower, giving form to human connection through light and movement.

Connexio reads the frequency of interactions within one’s social sphere, translating it into a living organism: the flower blooms when relationships are nurtured and withdraws as connection fades.

It does not notify. It does not instruct. It reflects.

Developed for Alessi in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Technology by Arihant Kothari, a Master’s student in Product & Furniture Design, Connexio embodies an artificial intelligence agent capable of interpreting the quality of human relationships.

In an age marked by the growing distance between digital connection and emotional proximity, it emerges as a relational technology — a system that makes the invisible visible. Interaction data is translated into slow, organic transformations inspired by the life cycles of a flower.

Six fragrances, contained within coloured glass tubes, modulate energy, calm and inspiration, tuning the atmosphere of the space to the emotional state of its inhabitant.
