Brands CORMATEX SRL

Cormatex is a textile machinery manufacturer, located in Prato (Italy) and operating on the international markets for more than 35 years. Founded in 1938, the company has diversified its own production, becoming a leader in customized solutions for the following two sectors:

Woollen spinning: (complete lines for woollen yarn production as well as special technologies for wool deburring and cashmere, alpaca and other fine fiber dehairing). Nonwoven: (complete lines including opening and blending, carding, cross lapping, slitting and winding machines).

Concerning Woollen spinning, we produce the following lines:

Wool deburring line: the automatic wool deburring line has been designed for the complete separation of fibre from vegetable impurities through a totally mechanical process (wool deburring). This technology is ideal for both those who process and market wool fibre (fibre chemical carbonization process and/or fibre preparation for spinning process), and for those who manufacture high-quality wool yarns and sweaters/fabrics Cashmere Dehairing line: this line has been designed for a complete separation of the thin and finest fibres (14-15 micron) from the coarse hair of the outer coat, which cannot be used in the following carding and spinning processes. Therefore, this technology is designed both for dehaired cashmere fibres sellers and cashmere yarns and fabrics/sweaters producers. Opening and Blending line: complete opening and blending lines for woollen and worsted/semi-worsted spinning systems, provided for high performance and able to perfectly adjust to the customer’s requirements. Due to its consolidated experience in the field, in which it has been active ever since the early ‘40s, it has developed its production by specialising in top quality applications, by developing specific technologies to treat fine and extra -fine fibres, such as cashmere, camel hair, angora, llama, vicuña, guanaco, etc. Wollen spinning line:  high performance woollen spinning lines, with extremely flexible configurations, capable of processing any type of natural and/or manmade fibres (both virgin and regenerated), while maximising quantity and quality output. The application sectors covered by this technology range from coarse yarns, to average/fine yarns, to fine and extra-fine yarns, with a particular specialisation in processing high quality fine fibres such as cashmere, camel hair, angora, llama, vicuña, guanaco, etc., with yarn count range up to Nm 60 in cashmere-silk blends.

While concerning Nonwoven we can find:

Needle punching line: complete lines for the production of needle punched nonwovens to produce hi-tech products (Technical Textiles) made of different fibre components and with various technical features. Thermobonding Line: complete lines for the production of thermobonded nonwovens designed for the production of hi-density and hi-loft (low-density) products with different composition as well as physical and mechanical features, with the ability to process natural or manmade, virgin or regenerated fibres. Airlaying Line:  innovative technology based on a new aerodynamic fibre batt formation (perfectly even both longitudinally and across the whole machine width) capable of replacing traditional mechanical processes using carding machine and cross lapper, in many applications of the nonwoven sector.

The corporate approach of Cormatex is absolutely “Green” and focused on the principles of the Circular Economy. Our machinery for the production of non-woven fabric does not produce any type of waste and our innovative Airlay technology has numerous advantages from an ecological point of view, such as the reduction of energy consumption and the environmental impact of textile industries or the reduction of waste taken to landfills. We firmly believe in Circular Economy and in a near future where any industrial production cannot only rely on virgin raw materials consumption but also reusing and recycling waste materials and end of life products. Such a believe is driving our last 15 years of technology development and pushing Cormatex to take part to R&D projects all over the world, for the conversion of waste materials into new added value products for various applications (building, insulation, automotive, home furnishing ecc.)
