Osaka Design Week / Osaka Fuorisalone
On the occasion of the 2026 edition of Fuorisalone, the development of a major new international project was announced: Osaka Design Week and Fuorisalone Osaka.
Osaka Design Week is a new international initiative dedicated to design and manufacturing, promoted by leading Osaka-based Japanese companies, including UNION and SANAI, in collaboration with Studiolabo and Fuorisalone.it.
Osaka Design Week has been conceived with the objective of positioning Osaka as a central hub of Japanese design and craftsmanship, promoting excellence in local production while fostering a structured dialogue with the international design community.
The project is framed within the context of the 45th anniversary of the Milan-Osaka sister city relationship, further strengthening the connection between the two cities through design.
Alongside the promotion of Japanese design, the format includes a curated selection dedicated to Italian design and craftsmanship, conceived as a cultural and commercial platform capable of generating new opportunities for exchange and distribution within the Japanese market. The initiative has also been designed with a long-term perspective, progressively opening to established brands and companies operating in the design sector that are interested in entering or strengthening their presence in the Japanese and broader Asian markets.
Osaka Design Week will take place in Osaka from 25 September to 4 October 2026, featuring a program of exhibitions, events, and initiatives dedicated to both the general public and industry professionals, as part of the Osaka Fuorisalone program.
Dubai Design District
During Milan Design Week 2025, a key partnership was announced between Dubai Design District (d3) and two Milanese design icons: Fuorisalone.it and Brera Design District, both developed by Studiolabo.
The goal is to boost cultural and professional collaboration, promote joint initiatives, and exchange know-how.
The partnership helps to strengthen the profile of Dubai’s creative economy in international markets, further consolidating the emirate’s position as a global hub for the design and creative industries. At the same time, the agreement expands opportunities for Italian creative talent and businesses seeking to access the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region through d3, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to Dubai and across the wider region.
