From June 7 to June 21, 2022, ISSEY MIYAKE presents THINKING DESIGN, MAKING DESIGN: Work by A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE and Tatsuo Miyajima: a journey through A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE's collaborations with professional creatives, who carry forward the concepts of design and making that underlie ISSEY MIYAKE's work - which has always challenged itself in creating original and quality products. The design work carried out by ISSEY MIYAKE as a company goes beyond form, designing and creating clothes that reflect the lifestyle of those who wear them. Developing original fabrics designed for contemporary society and striving to perfect the design and manufacturing processes. The way ISSEY MIYAKE approaches the production of the garment, from the drawing board to its completion, reflects the concept behind the brand-that it approaches clothing design as product design. Building on this idea, A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE explores the various ways of uniting and translating art and clothing design through collaborative projects. This special project showcases artist Tatsuo Miyajima's work on seven-segment digital numbers and presents TYPE-II Tatsuo Miyajima project by A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE through an installation. The brand collaborates with the artist to create clothes inspired by Miyajima's work, promoting the experience of wearing art in everyday life.
