CRASH
In the historic 5VIE district, Margraf, a leader in the marble industry, makes its debut at Milan Design Week with CRASH, an installation created by Hannes Peer Architecture, known for its conceptual and multidisciplinary approach that blends architecture, design, and theoretical research.
With CRASH, marble, traditionally seen as a symbol of perfection and stability, is transformed into an element of disruption and revelation. The installation explores collision not only as a physical phenomenon but also as a conceptual force that challenges expectations. Here, marble defies its traditional role as a simple surface material: it bends, fractures, and breaks free from its usual geometric constraints, gaining new formal autonomy.
The project celebrates marble as a living, constantly evolving material, one that expresses tensions and contradictions, shedding the idea of a mere surface to tell a deeper story of memory, energy, and transformation.
