AEVUM. Fuorisalone 2025
It takes its name – Aevum, meaning eternity in Latin – from research developed byZaha Hadid Architects to develop a printing mixture that includes waste marble dust, and also has the structural properties necessary for large-scale architecture. The installation draws inspiration from the colonnade of the University of Milan, engaging in a visual dialogue with it.
It consists of arches of different heights misaligned with each other: each one is made of marble or cement. The result is an architecture that combines cutting-edge technologies with craftsmanship. Aevum intends to express a proactive vision of the future, where innovation and tradition coexist in a creative way.
The 6x6 meter installation consists of arches lightly offset from each other to create a dynamic interaction with the surrounding space.
The marble arch is sculpted in solid Bianco Merano Gold marble, produced by A.A.T.C. and Co., while the one 3D printed is made up with a cement mix developed by Sika and Vertico.
Lighting is provided by spotlights incorporated into the steel platform, designed and supplied by Griven. The project has been developed with the support of the engineering firm Eckersley O’Callaghan.
