ARTIST'S APARTMENT / Design and shapes of the soul
From April 16 to 25 the different rooms will be animated by the iconic pieces designed for the Revolution brand, presented alongside an unprecedented series of paintings characterized by architectural forms and carefully calibrated, emotionally charged tones — the result of an inner exploration guided by a profound sense of freedom. The coexistence of design and Roberto Bellantoni’s pictorial practice finds its full expression in the Revolution brand’s LAB at Via Senato 18 in Milan, creating a fully immersive atmosphere. The result is an itinerary between reality and transfiguration, one that overturns the traditional conventions of exhibition design and plays on the chromatic dialogue between furniture and paintings, constructing a visual coherence capable of engaging the viewer on both a sensory and perceptual level. From the very threshold, visitors are invited to step into the artist’s home: a space suspended between reality and pictorial imagination, where forms, colors and memories intertwine in a personal atlas of spatial possibilities translated onto canvas. Traces of places truly inhabited or crossed by Bellantoni emerge throughout the works, transformed into poetic visions and reinterpreted through the filter of memory and dream. Buildings, “tower houses” or barely suggested volumes create a bridge between the concrete dimension of dwelling and the imaginative one, giving rise to suspended landscapes — recognizable yet subtly altered, tangible and at the same time rarefied. ARTIST’S APARTMENT thus celebrates the idea of interior architecture as a 360-degree artistic expression, where the rational design of furniture dialogues with the freedom of two-dimensional painting — liberated from technical and functional constraints and capable of transforming itself into narrative, emotion and inner reflection. Each work becomes a fragment of a dream, each piece of furniture a trace of lived experience: two open doors onto a world that exists within the soul of the designer-artist and that, through the exhibition, becomes a shared experience.
