Brands Hendrick's Gin

Hendrick's Gin is produced in the region of Ayrshire in Scotland using two stills: Carter-Head and Bennett Still. The former was created in 1948 by John Dore & Co., while the latter, even older, was designed in 1860 by London master coppersmiths.

In 1966, Charles Gordon - the owner of William Grant & Sons - acquired these two vintage stills without knowing exactly their future use. In 1988, Charles Gordon met Lesley Gracie, throwing her a challenge on how to use these two stills to create a gin capable of integrating an unusual blend compared to the common ones.

It took 11 years and numerous experiments with plants, seeds, roots, and fruits before arriving at a formula that could satisfy Mr. Gordon's request: 11 botanicals, some classic and some absolutely extravagant for the category - yarrow, coriander, juniper, chamomile, cumin seeds, cubeb berries, elderflower, orange peel, lemon peel, angelica root, iris root, and a final infusion of damask rose petals and cucumber.

Produced in small batches (450 liters at a time), served iconically with tonic and the typical slice of cucumber, Hendrick's Gin is simply the most loved and requested gin in bars all over the world.
