Designers Alessandra Zanelli
Alessandra Zanelli, architect, PhD, is Full professor of Technology of Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Engineering Construction, teaching both at School of Architecture and School of Design. Her research projects and experimental design’s course are focusing on the sustainable innovation of ultra-lightweight and textile-based structures, applicable at the architectural scale. She is Regional Representative of the European Research Network TensiNet. She is the founder and coordinator of Textiles HUB, the Interdepartmental Laboratory on Textile materials and Polymers at Politecnico di Milano, that involves five departments, to enhancing the experimental application of textiles and polymers in architecture and interior design, as well as the technological transfer from the most advanced nautical, aerospatial and automotive sectors to the construction field.
