Designers Nathaly Michelle Rodriguez Torres

Nathaly Michelle Rodríguez Torres is an architect and Ph.D. Candidate at Politecnico di Milano. Her research focuses on sustainable water management in Latin America, aiming to enhance water resilience in rapidly urbanizing regions through integrated Life Cycle Assessment approaches. This work reflects her broader commitment to sustainability, resource efficiency, and addressing critical challenges in the built environment.

She holds a B.Sc. in Architecture (2012–2017) from Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, Ecuador, and a M.Sc. in Built Environment and Interiors (2019–2022) from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Since 2023, she has been actively involved in academia, supporting the teaching of the Technological and Environmental Design course at PoliMi.

Before her doctoral studies, she collaborated with the TextilesHub and Material Balance Research laboratories at PoliMi, contributing to projects on fog-harvesting technology and bio-based material experimentation, with her work featured in exhibits such as the Biennale di Venezia. She also played a key role in the MATE.RIA project, a research dedicated to the ecological treatment and innovative recycling of post-consumer textiles in architecture. Her contributions focused on industrial research into the textile waste supply chain, evaluating the functional and environmental benefits of novel products and services, and engaging in multidisciplinary eco-design activities.
