Designers Alessandro Sambini

Born in Rovigo in 1982, Alessandro Sambini lives and works in Milan. After studying Design and Arts at the Free University of Bolzano and completing a Master’s in Research Architecture at Goldsmiths’ College in London, he developed an artistic practice spanning photography, video, and digital media. His work investigates the processes of production and perception of contemporary images, exploring the relationship between human vision and technological systems. His works have been exhibited internationally and are part of major Italian public collections. Since 2018, he has been teaching photography and visual communication at NABA, and since 2023 also at LABA. He is represented by Galleria Michela Rizzo. Sambini’s most recent works stem from a reflection on the relationship between images and algorithms, focusing on the limitations of visual recognition technologies. Within this space of “error,” the artist identifies an opportunity: the possibility of generating new interpretations. Through a process of deconstruction and reinterpretation of images, the work builds a subjective narrative in which memory, visual culture, and imagination intertwine, offering a free and unpredictable perspective.
