PoP XMAS: The immersive experience transforming Portanuova Milan

Portanuova is hosting the second edition of PoP XMAS, an immersive experience created for the Christmas season, featuring luminous installations, markets, and an interactive Christmas tree.
The format embodies and highlights Portanuova's “pop” spirit, where the term “pop” also serves as an acronym for “People of Portanuova”, a social media format celebrating those who live and work in the neighborhood, making it a dynamic and vibrant place.

Discover below all the installations and experiences happening in Portanuova from November 30 to January 6, 2025:

XMAS Tree
A towering 13-meter-tall tree of lights will dominate the center of Piazza Gae Aulenti, guiding visitors through an emotional journey across five rooms featuring captivating settings and digital interactions.

Santa’s Home
A warm and cozy living room where visitors can receive a digital souvenir photo. By booking a dedicated slot via the app, Santa Claus himself will host guests, offering a selection of festive goodies.

Find Your Gift
An experience tailored for Gen Z and social media enthusiasts. By scanning a QR code, visitors can access a magical filter to unleash their creativity with photos and videos on Instagram and TikTok.

Sleigh Adventure
Thanks to the Sleigh Adventure simulator, visitors can transition from the warmth and comfort of a mountain chalet to an outdoor setting of snow and ice. The simulator offers the thrill of a high-speed sled ride down a snowy slope.

Sharing XMAS
Love, Friendship, and Hope: these are the values that best represent Portanuova’s digital community, as voted on social media. Representing these values are three trees in the Sharing XMAS installation. Visitors can share their votes to see light displays and special effects, fostering an atmosphere of collective sharing and participation:

Cookies Corner
Traditional Christmas markets will enliven Piazza Gae Aulenti with French artisanal products. The food offerings at PoP XMAS will be exceptional, including boulangerie-style chalets, macarons, crepes, candy, chocolate, and mulled wine. There will even be a dedicated area for oyster-and-champagne aperitifs.

The Chalet
In Piazza Alvar Aalto, a chalet will be set up as an extension of the experience inside the tree. Here, visitors can pick up a personalized Christmas ornament featuring their photo.

Over 10,000 Micro LEDs
For the event, Via Capelli and the bridge crossing Melchiorre Gioia will be adorned with festive lights, creating an immersive holiday effect.
