Designer Ilaria Pugliese

Ilaria Pugliese is a PhD candidate at the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, researching natural fibres for lightweight architectural systems. Previously, she worked as an architect on public and private projects in healthcare, education, and residential sectors, collaborating with firms in Germany and Italy. In 2021, she earned a master's degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Politecnico di Milano and a double degree from Politecnico di Milano and Torino through the Alta Scuola Politecnica innovation program. Her research interests include sustainable construction systems, bio-based building materials, digital fabrication and circular economy.
