Designer Ruvidae
RUVIDAE From [Lat. rūgĭdus, from ruga, “wrinkle”; literally “wrinkled”]. – 1. a. Having a surface that is not smooth or polished, rough to the touch: stone, bark, coarse wool, or textured fabric.
Ruvidae was born in Milan in 2023 from the artistic vision of Angela Sanfrancesco, an Interior Architect. The sense of touch takes center stage.
Ruvidae evokes the authenticity of the “unpolished”, inevitably carrying the traces of its own history. Each piece is handcrafted, inspired by nature, by rocky coastlines, and by the jagged cliffs of the founder’s homeland. Irregular forms, dazzling plays of light and shadow, and the balance between full and empty define the stylistic essence of the ceramics. The concept of change and randomness lies at the heart of the project. Every object is unique—no two pieces are alike, just as in nature.
