Looking Ahead: it is the general theme that was conceived months ago to give the outline of the next edition of the Superdesign Show by Superstudio during Design Week 2022. Distancing ourselves from the belief that "everything will be as before" and anticipating a future that has to be reformulated in all its expressions, we invited designers and companies to align themselves with this way of thinking "beyond". In order to explore unknown territories, anticipate needs and trends, translate the word "sustainability" – which is the common thread that binds everything – into concrete ideas, and redesign our lives that have suddenly become more complex. Taking place on unusual dates this year due to the pandemic, and made even more uncertain by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Design Week 2022 becomes an opportunity to reshape the social, economic and productive fabric in a positive manner.

The revised format of Superdesign introduced at the September 2021 edition confirms Gisella Borioli's and Giulio Cappellini's direction, which has made the event unmissable and prestigious since its first edition in 2000, as well as during its subsequent chapters.

In terms of the construction of the area, 2022 presents itself as a spontaneous "village", developed by fields of interest through "buildings" and site-specific installations encircling the ample halls of Superstudio Più, in which the visitor is free to wander.

The topics proposed by the exhibitors deal with very relevant issues, looking, indeed, ahead.
