ProbioHouse - The Probiotic House

Conceived and created by Simona Kemenater owner of SSK Studio, in collaboration with ProbioArKS, ProbioHouse - La Casa Probiotica is an installation designed to experience a home built with eco-sustainable and biocompatible materials, enriched with microorganisms beneficial to humans. Materia Natura, the theme of Fuorisalone 2024, suggested that we share the experimentation on the use of microorganisms in architecture and in the maintenance of living spaces. ProbioHouse - The Probiotic House will offer an immersive experience to visitors and will bring them closer to the concept of a living home: an oasis where they can breathe clean air and experience environmental well-being in the middle of the city. The need arises from the desire to make visitors perceive the sensations that a healthy home is able to transmit. The ProbioHouse project consists of the redevelopment of a 65 sqm apartment in the Isola district, in Milan: materials with low environmental impact, application of probiotics, circular footprint, reduced time, waste containment, reasonable value for money to demonstrate how a living architecture is possible, and can be harmoniously integrated into the design and budget of housing projects.
