Portanuova 2026
Portanuova transforms into an emotional and creative laboratory
Portanuova, a symbolic district of one of the largest urban regeneration projects with cultural, social, and environmental impact, and the first neighborhood in the world to achieve the dual LEED® and WELL® for Community sustainability certification, once again confirms itself as a leading protagonist of Design Week 2026.
During Milan Design Week, the Portanuova district becomes an open-air laboratory with Blooming Imperfection – Relationships in Progress, a project that invites reflection on the value of human relationships.
At the heart of the experience lies the concept of “Being a Project”: the journey matters more than the result, and incompleteness and error become essential elements in the creation of authentic connections.
The works of Andrea Olivari, artist and designer, transform the urban space into an immersive path, starting with a triptych depicting three human organs. Monumental installations and voice-overs by Gabriele Agostinelli accompany visitors, while QR codes allow them to generate personalized digital versions of the artworks.
Other points of interaction:
• Photo corners: Via Capelli, Piazza Gae Aulenti, Piazza Luigi Einaudi
• Daily talks in Piazza Gae Aulenti featuring guests such as Alessandro Cattelan, Umberto Galimberti, and Chiara Piotto, including experts and content creators
• Flower Bar in Piazza Alvar Aalto curated by Alea: exhibition of mini floral installations, a temporary restaurant by Casaburi with a social table, Fiuri set design, and a free flower bag bookable on Portanuova Milano
Blooming Imperfection transforms vulnerability into a resource and relationships into ever-evolving processes, encouraging people to take care of themselves and others.
But the immersive experience of Design Week 2025 extends even further, involving an eclectic selection of brands and designers that find their ideal exhibition space in Portanuova:
- Alfaparf awaits you with many surprises and gifts at its Semi di Lino Pop-Up in Piazza Gae Aulenti;
