As part of Design Week 2022, IKEA is celebrating life at home with the IKEA Festival: a rich schedule of events and immersive experiences to showcase the future of retail and design, explore how the relationship between people and their homes has evolved, and show how improving your everyday life can create for a more mindful home.

Throughout the week, it will be possible to visit Ögonblick - A Life at home exhibition, a fascinating physical and digital installation inspired by H22, a project in Helsingborg, Sweden which IKEA is partnering with the aim to build “the sustainable city of the future". As the name of the exhibition suggests - Ögonblick means 'moment' in Swedish - IKEA invites people to discover how different moments in life are reflected in their home life and the way they experience spaces, while investigating the effects this might have on time and space. From single-family studio apartments to multigenerational shared rooms: a narrative of life at home that stems from a deep understanding of people and their relationship with their homes, analysed each year by the brand through the Life at Home Report.

In addition, in homage to the capital city of Italian design, in the outdoor area a classic Milanese "casa di ringhiera" (railing house) will also come to life, leading visitors to discover homes that encapsulate the lives of three different families and tell the story of their inhabitants. An unexpected experience capable of entertaining and arousing emotions through the telling of common living situations.

Moreover, the days will be dedicated to previewing upcoming collections, and sessions with long-term collaborators and in-house design talent. This year’s event will feature Fredrika Inger, Global Range Manger at IKEA of Sweden, Design Manager Johan Ejdemo, in-house Designers Mikael Axelsson and Friso Wiersma, long-term collaborator and UK-based Designer Ilse Crawford, Rotterdam-based Designer Sabine Marcelis among many more.

The Festival will host musical experiences and events in the evenings with international artists. IKEA Festival will also offer the public a typically Swedish food experience.
