Miele is a world leader in the manufacture of high-quality home appliances, including traditional and steam ovens, cooktops, refrigeration products, coffee machines, dishwashers, and laundry and floor care products. Its product portfolio also includes air purifiers, dishwashers, washers and dryers for commercial use, as well as washer and sterilizers for medical and laboratory applications. Founded in 1899, the company has eight production plants in Germany, one each in Austria, the Czech Republic, China, Romania and Poland, as well as two production plants belonging to Steelco Medical Technology. Miele is present with its own sales subsidiaries and through importers in nearly 100 countries/regions. Worldwide, the family-owned company, now in its fourth generation, employs about 22,300 people, including about 11,200 in Germany. The company's headquarters are in Gütersloh, Westphalia.
