Designers FIBRA Research

Since 2019, Adriana Fortunato and Caterina Fumagalli have been developing FIBRA research, a project of research and experimentation on textile matter. The project investigates the use of fine fibers and “Made in Italy” materials sourced from the high-quality textile industry, transforming them into unique Fiber Art works and limited-edition art design pieces.

Silk, linen, wool, and cotton—materials that have historically defined the excellence of Italian textile production—become the core of artistic practices carried out without the use of a loom, within a free, physical, and material-driven process.

The works reflect on women’s labor as a space of memory and cultural transmission. The project has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Italy, Switzerland, and Brazil; the works are also featured in specialized publications and on international platforms such as Artnet, Artemest, Arte Laguna World, and Through Objects.
