SuperCity - Superstudio Maxi

Events at the Design Week across Superstudio Più, Superstudio Maxi and the new Superstudio Village

For Milan Design Week 2026, Superstudio returns with a project that explores the transformations of international design by creating a new map that crosses three areas of the city — Tortona, Barona and Bovisa — and three distinct venues: Superstudio Più, Superstudio Maxi and the brand-new Superstudio Village. The format unfolds across a total surface of 30,000 square meters and is structured around three thematic identities: SuperNova, SuperCity and SuperPlayground, each with its own curatorial vision and distinct identity.

Among the major highlights of the 2026 edition is the return of MOOOI, presenting a large-scale, immersive, site-specific installation designed by Marcel Wanders in the Central Point space at Superstudio Più. Created in collaboration with Superstudio, the project occupies nearly 1,000 square meters and marks a symbolic moment for the Dutch brand, which returns to Milan twenty-five years after its debut in the very same venue. The installation offers a reinterpretation of iconic pieces, reimagined forms and new experiments, set within a luminous, vibrant scenography that reflects the energy and evolution of the brand over time. Alongside MOOOI, numerous other international brands will animate Superstudio Più with independent pavilions, bespoke projects and new visions of contemporary design.

At Superstudio Maxi, the SuperCity project envisions an ideal city of the future, where the boundaries between design, art and architecture become increasingly blurred. Within this context, Giulio Cappellini curates an installation that tells the story of tomorrow’s urban landscape, developed in collaboration with leading companies in the sector. The result is an environment with a strong scenographic and almost cinematic language, where dream, materiality, imagination and design coexist. One of the thematic areas will also be dedicated to international design academies and universities, offering insights into the most urgent and innovative issues of today and strengthening the collaboration with ICFF – International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, with a specific focus on the role of education.

Superplayground Fuorisalone 2026
SuperPlayground - Superstudio Village

The major new development is Superstudio Village, debuting in the Bovisa district with SuperPlayground, a program designed for young designers, emerging studios and creative collectives. Through an international Open Call, Superstudio provides flexible exhibition spaces to support new talents and encourage experimentation, reviving the original spirit of the Fuorisalone as an open platform for new languages and future scenarios. The aim is to offer concrete opportunities to younger generations and broaden access to the main circuits of the event.

As a whole, Superstudio Design 2026 presents itself as a project conceived for Milan and for the future of design, expanding not only physical spaces but also research directions: from dialogue with major international players to the promotion of education and research, and a renewed commitment to an authentic, experimental approach. A cultural investment that seeks to activate new creative districts, generate connections and contribute to the development of a design ecosystem capable of growing alongside the city and reinforcing its role on the global stage.
