The most important international appointment with design slips by two months. The new dates to mark on your calendar: June 6-12.
From April to June. The critical issues given by the worsening of the epidemiological situation due to the Omicron variant have led the Board of Directors of the Salone del Mobile to choose to postpone the 2022 edition.
The importance of the ritual of this appointment for the furniture and design sector is central and in this phase of uncertainty, considering the needs of the market, postponing the event is a necessary solution.
The Milano Design Week will therefore take place from June 6 to 12, a shift that will allow to give life to a fair capable of attracting visitors from all over the world and to companies to benefit from a longer period of time to plan the preparations and projects, overcoming the difficulties due to the lack of some materials, supplies and reduced staff.
"We have been working since last September to prepare for the next edition, which has registered higher rates of participation and interest than in 2019, a record year," says Paolo Casati - co-founder of Studiolabo.
"The interest and the will of the participating companies, as well as of the sponsors and the design community towards Fuorisalone remains constant, despite the new crisis that in the last three weeks has registered a new disorientation. We therefore consider correct and prudent the choice of a postponement to June, offering greater guarantees of safety and possibility to welcome guests and international public, also in view of optimization of calendars with other important appointments".
From June 6 to 12 the Fuorisalone will take place. An important moment of meeting open to all in which Milan breathes an international air, unique in its kind: this is the festival of design.
A special week made of sharing and hybridizations between leading and emerging designers, able to give rise to innovative projects that influence the design industry, which will be compared to the theme of the next edition "Between Space and Time".
If the September edition of Milano Design Week 2021 symbolized the restart and succeeded in confirming the Italian supremacy of the sector beyond all expectations, we are working to plan a special appointment to try to tell about complex themes, making them accessible to the general public, and imagine the world of tomorrow.
The project for 2022 includes important new features and innovative solutions with an editorial plan organized between previews, dedicated content and special projects, to accompany the wait for the big event in June.
