A talk with Gregg Jones
Gregg Jones, partner at Pelli Clarke & Partners, recounts the process that led to the realisation of the Porta Nuova-Garibaldi Masterplan, centred on the concept of the square as an urban connection node between fragmented neighbourhoods. According to Jones' account, the design was a journey of discovery, guided by the specificities of the site rather than predefined ideas: an approach that led to turning constraints, such as parking management and fire regulations, into opportunities.
