Designer Maria Giovanna Di Bitonto

Maria Giovanna Di Bitonto is  a dedicated researcher and lab technician at the Textiles Hub at Politecnico di Milano. She is specializing in textiles, water management, and sustainable innovation. With a PhD in Architecture from PoliMi, she focuses on Fog Harvesting textile architecture to address water scarcity, exploring advanced materials for efficient water collection systems.

She has led research initiatives on textile waste recycling and sustainable water management, applying her expertise to develop innovative solutions. Through extensive experimentation in the lab and on-site in various locations worldwide, she has tested textile materials in real-world conditions to optimize their performance in water collection technologies.

With a strong interdisciplinary approach, Maria Giovanna integrates scientific research, textile engineering, and sustainability to tackle global water challenges through innovative and practical strategies.
