Designer Carol Monticelli

Carol Monticelli is Associate Professor at the Depratment of Architecture, Built environment and construction Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where she previously covered 4 postdoctoral position from 2006 to 2013.

She is focusing on a reading of the design process, in the light of changes driven by the principles of a conscious environmental design, and, assuming the life cycle approach as background reference. She focused in many researches on the end-of-life scenarios. Associated member of 2 international associations: TensiNet, WG Sustainability and Comfort coordinator (from 2015), IASS, active in WG 18 Environmentally Compatible Structures (ECS) and WG6 Archtiectural Membranes. Associated member of 2 Italian ones: Society of Architectural Technologists; LCA Association Network.

She collaborates in 3 European Collaborative Projects from 2012 – 2017 (Sp(e)edkits, Easee, EU COST Action 1303 Novel Structural Skins), one Cariplo Founfation Project (SOFT) and one Lombardy regional project (TIFAIN).

She is member of EU Horizon MSCA Project ActaReBUild (2022-2026), Coordinator of the local POLIMI unit of the PRIN project GreenTEX.

Member of scientific committees and reviewer in international conferences. Quality Manager of the biaxial mechanical testing rig at the accredited interdepartmental Textiles Hub at Polimi.

As a techer, she is lecturer of 2 courses in bachelor degrees, supervisor of 45 master and bachelor degree thesis, supervisor of 4 PhD candidates and co-supervisor of 6 PhD candidates.
