‘Memories of Italy’ is a collection of beautiful everyday objects, handmade with love in Italy by different craftsman and traditional craft workshops, and distributed through the e-commerce of the brand. The selection is made by Kaori Shiina, designer and Hands on Design founder, who met and appreciate these product during her thirty years of life in Italy.

“I would like to present these objects following the thread of my memory and the impressions they evoke to me, through anecdotes, places and circumstances that make them dear to me and that arouse love for the many little beautiful things that are lived in Italy. Meetings and people, like the many talented artisans who pass on their history and their antique mastery through these common use objects.

Italy, like Japan, is for centuries a country of Art and Design, and many objects of millennial use have remained almost unchanged.
Because material, form and function were perfect right from the beginning.”

The launch of each product on the website is anticipated through a real-life anecdote and the story of the maker, and is followed by a narration through the Instagram page of the brand that goes deep inside the workshops, traditions and the daily use of the objects. Memories of Italy is glad to present its collection during the Fuorisalone at Zeus showroom, where people will be able to touch and admire the selected products, as well as meet some artisans involved.
