IKEA will be at Milan Design Week, 15 – 21 April 2024 returning for the second year in a row to Padiglione Visconti, via Tortona 58. This year, the exhibition, 1st, will explore the many firsts that people go through when they get their first place.

Padiglione Visconti, where over seventy-seven thousand joined the IKEA exhibition during Milan Design Week 2023, will be transformed into an IKEA playground. Expertly designed by long-time IKEA collaborators; architect Midori Hasuike and spatial designer Emerzon, the exhibition aims to spotlight the often contrasting, but frequently similar ways we deal with moving out on our own. On entering, visitors will be treated to an immersive maze, showcasing significant ‘firsts’ that a person experiences when they get a place of their own.

New IKEA products will be revealed during the week, as well as a sneak preview of a new store experience for visitors. As always at Milan Design Week, the IKEA venue will be a haven for weary feet, hungry stomachs, and those in search of good music. The restaurant will serve Hotdiggity Dog, a selection of IKEA hotdogs designed exclusively for the exhibition. The venue will switch gears at night and welcome exciting music talents. To tie into the concept, all of the acts will be playing their sets for the first time.
