A talk with Kim Herforth Nielsen

Kim Herforth Nielsen has been involved in architecture and urban development for forty years. In 2007, he set up GXN, a unit within the firm designed to investigate aspects of sustainability, green technology and new materials, with a focus on the concept of community ‘behaviour’ in relation to buildings: it is the life generated by urban infrastructure that determines its successes and failures. Thanks to the collaboration with COIMA, Nielsen brings this approach to Milan for the first time, which, in the encounter with Italian expertise, is creating a lively design innovation.
