Bottega Ghianda: wood poetry in the heart of Milan

Many knew Pierluigi Ghianda as "the poet of wood". He was not just a cabinetmaker, but also a real lover of wood and with his passionate work he left an indelible mark in the world of design, in Milan as in many other places. Gae Aulenti, the Castiglioni brothers, Ettore Sottsass, Massimo Vignelli, Bob Noorda, Mario Bellini, Cini Boeri, Aldo Cibic are some of the big names who designed objects for Bottega Ghianda or collaborated with Pierluigi to develop products for other companies.

After the Master’s death, the tradition of Bottega Ghianda continues with its rigorous approach to production (which obviously remains in the heart of Brianza, in Valmadrera) but also with the opening of the first store in Milan, in Brera neighborhood. The inauguration of the Brera store also marked the debut of Michele De Lucchi as new art director of the historical brand. De Lucchi will also sign the project for the space in via Formentini 9, a calm and intimate place that perfectly matches the precious objects on sale.
