The bathroom

Me and me in the mirror

An intimate place and often a place for meditation, the bathroom is our dressing room. Like actors, we prepare and rehearse our parts in front of the mirror. In front of the bathroom mirror we find our faces again and decide which characters we will show to others, like in a novel by Pirandello. However, once the performance has finished, we return to see the bathroom as the domestic space devoted to self-care, a safe place where we can carve out a moment for ourselves to meditate on our bodies, without make-up and anxiety for our theatre "performance". We learn to build a healthy relationship with our bodies and measure our state of health. In the absence of external judgments, we can observe and evaluate the signs over time reflected on our skin.  Mirroring, meditating, caring: in the bathroom, the relationship between the well-being of body and mind is the main character, enjoying all the benefits technology can provide. Gian Paolo Lazzer of Strategy Innovation and Stefania Fabiano, General Manager of the Cosmetics Active Division of L'Oréal, lead us to a discovery of the relationship with our bodies within the bathroom.
