The "Thought for Humans" campaign celebrates a more human-centered approach to design. Among the key figures are Paolo Sorrentino and Robert Wilson. There is great anticipation for Euroluce
Research, thought, culture, design, innovation. The countdown has begun for the 63rd edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano (April 8-13, at Rho Fiera Milano), the leading international event in the sector with over 2,000 exhibitors (38% from abroad), 148 brands including new entries and returns, spread across more than 169,000 sqm of exhibition space, of which over 32,000 sqm will be dedicated to the Biennale Euroluce (featuring over 300 brands from 25 countries). Furthermore, SaloneSatellite will showcase 700 designers under 35 and 20 international Schools and Universities. "This is a result that reflects our continuous commitment to improving the visitor experience, public and exhibitor services, promoting activities abroad, and creating new formats that have allowed us to forge new strategic alliances throughout the year in the USA, China, and – just this January – signing a Memorandum with Saudi Arabia, opening new opportunities for Made in Italy in a market where the sector's exports have risen by +22.8%. We’ve been around the world promoting the Salone, an effort to open up new opportunities for companies," said Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, during the press conference.

The event will kick off with "Robert Wilson. Mother", at the Museo Pietà Rondanini - Castello Sforzesco, where, on April 6, in an ideal link with Milan Art Week, the American artist will engage with the unfinished masterpiece by Michelangelo, accompanied by music from Arvo Pärt (running until May 18). The Salone's visiting journey will begin with a highly emotional project: "La dolce attesa", a site-specific installation by Academy Award-winner Paolo Sorrentino (pavilions 22-24), followed by a journey through pavilions 13-15 with an invitation to discover Villa Héritage, a visionary interior design project by French architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, who has designed exclusive projects such as the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Also at the Salone, the Arena di Formafantasma will host Drafting Futures. Conversations about Next Perspectives (pavilion 14): five days of Talks and Roundtables curated by Annalisa Rosso, featuring prominent figures such as Lesley Lokko, founder of the Africa Futures Institute, and Valeria Segovia, Director and Design Director of Gensler in London.

Euroluce will showcase the future of lighting design, driven by technology, sustainability, innovation, smart systems, AI integration, and biophilic design. Additionally, the first edition of The Euroluce International Lighting Forum will take place over two days. Under the title "Light for Life and Light for Spaces", the forum will present, at the new Arena The Forest of Space by Sou Fujimoto, 6 masterclasses, 2 roundtables, and 2 workshops featuring 20 international voices. Among the guests will be Stefano Mancuso, a pioneer of plant neurobiology, "solar designer" Marjan van Aubel, and Japanese lighting designer Kaoru Mende. In terms of layout, the new feature is the ring-mesh redesign of four pavilions (13-15 and 22-24). There will also be a focus on the timeless Italian ability to create objects, which Salone 2025 has named: A Luxury Way (pavilions 13-15). Meanwhile, SaloneSatellite will bet on the under-35 talent with the theme “New Craftsmanship: A New World”.
The Salone will embrace Milan in the context of Milan Design Week. In addition to the event curated by Robert Wilson, Euroluce’s power will illuminate other projects, including The Night Before at La Scala, where the event will officially open with the performance Chairs, Objects, Opera. The Design Kiosk will also return, an urban arena entrusted to Corraini Edizioni: a multitasking hub between publishing and thought. This year again, the collaboration between Salone del Mobile.Milano and Fuorisalone.it will renew, offering both industry professionals and design enthusiasts an essential tool for discovering and staying updated on events in the city organized by exhibiting companies, highlighting the connection between what happens at the fair and in Milan. The shared project will include an online map that not only highlights exhibitor events in the city but will also provide information about the fair’s pavilion locations.
Lastly, the Salone del Mobile.Milano supports the platform www.mitodesignconnections.it, promoted by the Unione Industriali Torino and Camera di commercio di Torino, which aims to foster relations between companies in Turin and Milan and provide logistical and hospitality support for exhibitors and visitors to the Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone. The platform offers hotel bookings, information on event locations, and arrangements for transportation between Turin Porta Susa and Rho Fiera (approximately 40 minutes).
