Turin: Yayoi Kusama
From October 31, 2026 to February 28, 2027, OGR Torino hosts Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room – The Eternally Infinite Light of the Universe Illuminating the Quest for Truth, following the artist's death on August 14, 2026. The installation, with its lights and mirrored surfaces, turns the space into a perceptual experience suspended between wonder and disorientation, exploring the theme of "self-obliteration." The work is part of The Quantum Effect project, dedicated to the relationship between quantum theory and contemporary visual culture. Tickets available from October 2026.

Rome: Keith Haring
From October 6, 2026 to April 11, 2027, Palazzo Braschi dedicates a major retrospective to Keith Haring, featuring over 140 works from the Nakamura Keith Haring Collection. The exhibition traces the artist's career from his New York Subway Drawings to political posters, sculptures and paintings, organized around thematic sections: the street, civic engagement, the body, art as a universal language. Curated by Kaoru Yanase, Ilaria Miarelli Mariani and Claudio Zambianchi, it also explores Haring's ties to Italy.

Milan: Dalì and fashion
From September 24, 2026 to January 31, 2027, Palazzo Reale opens its season with Dalí and Fashion, the first major exhibition dedicated to the relationship between Salvador Dalí and the world of fashion. Over 200 works — paintings, garments, jewelry and photographs, including collaborations with Schiaparelli, Chanel and Dior — reveal how the artist anticipated themes of identity construction and image spectacle. Curated by Montse Aguer, Laura Bartolomé Roviras and Judith Clark, it opens during Milan Fashion Week.

Rome: Gordon Matta-Clark
From October 16, 2026 to February 7, 2027, Rome's MAXXI presents an interdisciplinary exhibition dedicated to Gordon Matta-Clark, a key figure in the radical, participatory art of the late 20th century. The show traces the artist's commitment to transforming the urban environment into an aesthetic and social experience, through architectural interventions and collective practices that redefined the very concept of space. It dialogues with the museum's NATURE program and its other autumn projects on performance and the body.

L’Aquila: Fabio Mauri. The L'Aquila years
From September 26, 2026 to January 24, 2027, Palazzo Ardinghelli (MAXXI L'Aquila) marks the centenary of Fabio Mauri's birth with an exhibition curated by Maurizio Cattelan and Marta Papini. The project focuses on the years 1979–1999, when Mauri taught Aesthetics of Experimentation at L'Aquila's Academy of Fine Arts, highlighting the connection between his research on image, ideology and historical memory and the city that shaped and hosted him for two decades.

Venice: Fucina degli Angeli – Peggy Guggenheim Collection
From November 14, 2026 to March 29, 2027, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection presents Fucina degli Angeli, curated by Cristina Beltrami. Over a hundred glass works, drawings and documents reconstruct the story of the Fucina, founded by Egidio Costantini in Murano in the 1950s, with contributions from Braque, Picasso, Arp, Cocteau, Fontana and Japanese artists. Peggy Guggenheim played a decisive role, supporting the project and helping it gain international reach.

Turin: Still Image. Photos by Jessica Lange
From October 7, 2026 to February 7, 2027, the Sale Chiablese at Turin's Musei Reali host Still Image, curated by Anne Morin, the first Italian anthology dedicated to Jessica Lange's photographic work. Over 200 images, many previously unpublished, span nearly thirty years of practice: from the Highway 61 series to her Mexican and New York work, up to Mondo. The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalogue published by Moebius.

Naples: Thomas Hirschhorn – Ex-Voto-Tombola, Alfonso Artiaco
From September 4 to October 31, 2026, the new location of the Alfonso Artiaco gallery in Naples hosts Thomas Hirschhorn's sixth solo show, Ex-Voto-Tombola. On view are around 300 works from the POST series, made in 2025–2026 using cardboard, tape and marker. Each numbered piece can be purchased for 1,000 euros, but is assigned by random draw — a device that reinvents the relationship between collector and artwork.

Milan: COMBO Festival
On October 3–4, 2026, Morel Milan hosts COMBO, the new festival dedicated to contemporary board and role-playing games. Across 3,000 square meters and seven pavilions: over 80 previews, 150 gaming tables, an escape room, author meet-and-greets, talks, exhibitions (including one on women in game design) and an evening party. An event designed for both enthusiasts and newcomers to the gaming world alike.

Milano: Impronte 2026
From October 8 to 12, Villa Ghirlanda Silva in Cinisello Balsamo (MI) will host the 2026 edition of IMPRONTE, a festival of art, music, literature, film, and theater. Alongside the program of events, the exhibition “Characters and Performers” will be on display: a series of drawings by artist Remo Rachini that accompany the book of short stories written by Enrico Ruggeri.

Spoleto: Dario Fo pittore. The Theatrical Machines
From June 28, 2026 to April 25, 2027, the Rocca Albornoz in Spoleto hosts Dario Fo Painter: The Theatrical Machines, curated by Stefano Bertea and Mattea Fo, as part of the celebrations for the artist's centenary. Backdrops, sketches and painted set pieces from four productions — from Isabella, tre caravelle e un cacciaballe to La figlia del Papa — show how, for Fo, drawing preceded staging, as a single creative act uniting painting and theatre.

Bergamo: Isaac Julien. Museum Dreams
Through October 4, 2026, GRES ART 671 in Bergamo hosts Museum Dreams, Isaac Julien's first Italian retrospective, curated by Nathan Ladd. Five video installations, arranged in a non-linear layout designed for a "mobile viewer," trace thirty years of the British artist's career, alongside photographs, film reels, drawings and sculptures that expand the narrative around queerness, Black identity and cultural institutions.

Turin: Harry Gruyaert. Retrospective
From June 18 to October 4, 2026, CAMERA – Italian Centre for Photography hosts the first major Italian retrospective dedicated to Harry Gruyaert, a master of color photography and Magnum Photos member. Curated by François Hébel, the show traces the evolution of his work from the iconic TV Shots to his travel reportage, revealing how color became an expressive, emotional tool for the Belgian artist, in dialogue with Saul Leiter and William Eggleston.

Florence: Daniele Sigalot. Please Take This Seriously
From June 10, 2026, Florence's Gallery Hotel Art hosts Please Take This Seriously, an exhibition by Daniele Sigalot curated by Valentina Ciarallo, with free admission. On display are his signature lacquered aluminum post-its, the Ping Pong Paradox and an installation of polished steel paper planes: everyday objects transfigured into an ironic, paradoxical reflection on the art system, a hallmark of the Roman artist's practice.
