5VIE Returns to Palazzo Litta for Fuorisalone 2027

Milan — 08 October 2026

From 12 to 18 April, the 5VIE circuit will bring its headquarters back to the historic palazzo on Corso Magenta, following its 2024 edition there and continuing a presence in central Milan built through years of research into collectible design and the relationship between contemporary practice and historic architecture.

Palazzo Litta will once again become 5VIE's headquarters during Milan Design Week 2027. Its rooms and historic courtyards at Corso Magenta 24 will host installations and projects curated and managed by the circuit, which has also announced international productions, networking activities and initiatives distributed across its wider network of venues. The return to Palazzo Litta brings 5VIE back to one of the addresses that has marked the circuit's recent history.
In 2024, the palazzo hosted the 5VIE Design Week headquarters for the first time, through a collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture. Its eighteenth century rooms became part of the programme, with site specific productions developed by international designers and creatives including Eliurpi, Jay Sae Jung Oh, Nifemi Marcus-Bello, Kostas Lambridis and Sara Ricciardi.
The 2024 edition also highlighted a central aspect of 5VIE's approach: the choice of venue is closely connected to the construction of the programme. Rooms, courtyards and historic architecture become concrete conditions for the development of installations, placing contemporary works within spaces with their own layers of history. During that edition, Palazzo Litta also recorded thousands of visitors during Design Week, according to figures released by the Regional Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture.

This attention to historic architecture goes back to the origins of 5VIE itself, which was established in 2013 to bring renewed attention to the historic area between the Duomo, Sant'Ambrogio and the Colonne di San Lorenzo. From 2014 onwards, the project became part of Design Week with a programme focused on collectible design, galleries, high craftsmanship and contemporary research, gradually developing a network of palazzi, courtyards and cultural spaces across the historic centre. Over the years, the circuit has maintained this approach as its programme has grown, combining site specific productions, exhibitions and projects by international designers. In 2026, for example, the theme QoT, Qualia of Things focused 5VIE's research on perception and the experience of objects, within a programme involving 96 exhibitors.

For 2027, the return to Palazzo Litta fits into a wider structure that continues through Cavallerizze, Cesare Correnti 14 and SIAM 1838. The launch announcement anticipates international productions, exhibitions and site specific projects, while the names of the participants will be revealed over the coming months.
