Galleria San Babila 4/C, Milan
During Design Week, the San Babila pop-up designed by Benedetta Tagliabue of EMBT Architects introduces Monica Armani’s collections and redefines the role of the office within today’s contract landscape
At a time when the boundaries between work and hospitality have already been widely reshaped, Frezza chooses Milan to signal a decisive shift. The Frezza Milano Pop-Up at Galleria San Babila 4/C isn’t a mere preview of the future showroom, but a narrative tool that puts to the test a new idea of workplace.
Rather than simply embracing the now-familiar idea of hybrid environments, the Italian brand focuses on building a consistent design language across different contexts. Artistic direction by Benedetta Tagliabue (EMBT) translates this vision into an ephemeral architecture composed of reinterpreted archetypes: thresholds, arches and backdrops subtly evoke Palladio and Scarpa, without ever slipping into literal quotation.

At the heart of the project are the new collections by Monica Armani. With SABREE, the project takes on an architectural dimension: flowing, wave-like lines arrange tables and seating solutions into interior landscapes, turning space into a relational system. LASH, by contrast, focuses on a single, continuous curve, emphasizing comfort and clean, essential forms. Two distinct approaches that, together, create a cohesive design language.
The key point isn’t hybridization itself, but design consistency across uses. These elements operate seamlessly between office and hospitality without losing identity. In this sense, the workplace doesn’t disappear: it evolves into a broader design platform.
Milan becomes a strategic hub: not just a commercial outpost, but a space for dialogue with architects and designers, where products are framed within real scenarios rather than simple displays.
