All the books presented at Milano Design Week 2026

Lifestyle — 06 May 2026
Apartamento â Jasper Morrison

Not just installations and exhibitions: 12 new titles on design, craftsmanship, visual culture, and lifestyle that accompanied the Milanese week

From manifesto-style books to visual collections, through reflections on materiality and contemporary living, Milano Design Week 2026 also became a cultural platform. During Fuorisalone, the city turned into a temporary archive of ideas, images, and conversations. Alongside immersive installations and product launches, showrooms, foundations, and brands hosted editorial presentations, talks, and new publications capable of expanding the narrative of design beyond the object itself.

The Unimportance of Form
Jasper Morrison, curated by Sina Sohrab
Apartamento, 2026

The Unimportance of Form and Other Arguments gathers the early writings of British designer Jasper Morrison, written between 1984 and 2002 and collected and edited by industrial designer Sina Sohrab. Published together here for the first time, these texts map the formation of ideas that would come to define his practice: the responsibilities of design, the value of usefulness, and the quiet authority of ordinary things. From autobiographical manifestos and his 1985 RCA thesis to later essays, musings, and even notes for an unfinished novel, this compendium of 31 texts captures the honing of a lifelong argument about what design is — and what it should be.

Coffee pots from the master
Coffee pots from the masters
Giulio Iacchetti
Corraini, 2026

From Alfonso Bialetti’s classic moka pot to coffee makers by Michele De Lucchi, Tom Dixon, Isao Hosoe, King-Kong Design, Piero Lissoni, Angelo Mangiarotti, Alessandro Mendini, Gaetano Pesce, Ettore Sottsass, and Marco Zanuso. Twenty-four coffee makers illustrating different interpretations of the classic Moka. Twenty-four design exercises carried out by architects and designers that demonstrate how essential the moka is in a designer’s curriculum, because, as Mendini says, “every great architect has attempted its design, aspires to build a coffee maker just as, before dying, he would like to make a tower.”

jeong the spirit of korean craft and design
Jeong: The Spirit of Korean Craft and Design
Hyo Jung Le, with essays by Teo Yang, Beth McKillop, and J Kathryn Hong
Phaidon, 2026

Jeong: The Spirit of Korean Craft and Design brings together objects and practices that tell the story of Korean material culture across time. At its core is the concept of jeong: a subtle bond, made of care, memory, and relationship, that runs through the act of making and the everyday use of things. From ceramics to textiles, from furniture to contemporary creations, it reveals a way of thinking about design in which transformation does not interrupt continuity, but renews it. The book invites a close look at materials, details, and imperfections. It is precisely in these elements that an idea of design as relationship - between people, time, and matter - emerges, continuing to evolve without losing its roots.

DWA 20 anni libro con la tigre
DWA Design Studio
DWA + La Tigre, 2026

DWA Design Studio presents a limited-edition publication that retraces the studio’s design trajectory. Founded in Milan in 2005 by Alberto Artesani and Frederik De Wachter, the studio entrusted the book’s graphic direction to LaTigre, which translates this complexity into an editorial object built through layers. The book is structured in several sections, each identified by variations in paper and printing processes. The first section stems from an invitation to twenty designers, studios, clients, and creatives to freely interpret the acronym “DWA.” The second and third sections present a selection of projects organized according to a non-chronological, non-descriptive logic. Rather than constructing an exhaustive catalogue, the narrative privileges details, suggestions, and underlying sources of inspiration.

Typologie the camping tent
Typologie - The camping tent
Collections Typologie, 2025

The new volume of Collections Typologie is dedicated to the camping tent, a recurring element in both rural landscapes and urban spaces, whose apparent simplicity is deceptive. Positioned between an architecture to be handled and a piece of furniture to be inhabited, it encompasses multiple uses and brings together heterogeneous realities. Echoing primitive huts, descended from military encampments, a shelter for leisure or necessity - both fragile and resilient, protective yet permeable - the tent is used in both everyday and extreme contexts. An essential assembly of high-performance materials, it is designed in the West and manufactured in Southeast Asia. With 136 pages, the volume is published in both French and English editions. The first part presents a selection of 165 photographs, printed in duotone across 88 pages. The second part includes an introductory text by industrial designer Sina Sohrab and a cross-interview with three experts in the field.

the essence of slow parfumery le labo
The Essence of Slow Perfumery
Deborah Royer
Le Labo, 2026

With The Essence of Slow Perfumery, written by Deborah Royer, Le Labo transforms into a book what has always defined its universe: an idea of perfume as a slow, sensory experience deeply connected to memory. The volume is a collection of personal essays, reflections, images, and intimate fragments that distill the principles at the heart of the maison. Across ten chapters, it explores themes such as the tactility of craftsmanship, spaces capable of generating stillness and revelation, the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, the enigmatic language of scent, and the relationship with time — not as something to chase, but as an ally and a teacher. Through archival materials, confessions gathered over time, memories evoked by fragrances, and contributions from figures close to the brand, the book constructs a sort of sensory autobiography, where perfume becomes a tool for accessing emotions, memories, and forms of presence.

materia liquida disco aperitivo c41
Materia Liquida
A Research Edition by C41 for Sophie Lou Jacobsen
Creative Direction by Luca A. Caizzi, Design by Gaia V. Marraffa
C41, 2026

Created during the 2026 Salone del Mobile, on the occasion of the launch of the Disco Aperitivo Collection. A pocket-sized homage to liquid branding, this publication distills the glamour, color, and graphic sensuality liquor and mineral water logos into a collectible luxury object. This work is not a catalog, but a translation. It marks a subtle shift from recognition to perception, from label to essence. In the final measure, the glass does not contain a brand - it contains a feeling, momentarily held and inevitably released.
