At Design Week 2025, Domus Academy presents the second edition of UNFOLD, inviting young international designers to create innovative solutions that transform design and redefine its boundaries
Domus Academy, a prestigious international school of excellence in design and fashion, reaffirms its role as a key player in the creative landscape by participating once again in Milan Design Week 2025 with the second edition of UNFOLD, scheduled from April 7 to 13 at BASE:
Following the success of the first edition, Domus Academy returns with an even larger presence, doubling both the exhibition space and the number of projects presented. This year, the institution will host 12 universities and higher education institutions from around the world, selected through an international open call.
Domus Academy serves as a platform for innovative visions, offering an outstanding stage for international ideas and projects. This year’s theme, "REAFFIRM DESIGN://reframing design impact," encourages a critical reflection on the role, nature, and impact of design in contemporary society. Students have been challenged to explore how design can shape environments, societies, and technologies while addressing the urgent global challenges of our time.
The 12 participating international universities: Domus Academy, BAU College of Arts & Design Barcelona, College for Creative Studies, Nottingham Trent University, Strate School of Design, Slovak University of Technology Bratislava, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Birmingham City University, Coventry University School of Design and Media, EDINBA Escuela de Diseño del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura, Università della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, Xiamen University - Institute of Creativity and Innovation.
UNFOLD 2025 Program:
- An exhibition featuring 22 prototypes developed by participating schools, open for an entire week at BASE Milano.
-The "Reframing Design Impact" conference, taking place on April 10 at Domus Academy (Via Carlo Darwin, 20), featuring student project presentations and a keynote speech by renowned designer Yves Béhar.
