At Design Week 2026, Domus Academy presents the third edition of UNFOLD, the international event that confirms the school as a reference point for innovation, research and design culture

On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2026, Domus Academy, a leading international school of design and fashion, returns as a protagonist with the third edition of UNFOLD, taking place from April 20 to 26 at BASE Milano.

Following the success of the first two editions, UNFOLD grows, bringing together 20 universities and higher education institutions from around the world, selected through an international open call. The initiative creates a space for dialogue between students, academic institutions and professionals, confirming itself as an international platform for exchange between design schools and new generations of designers.

The theme of this year's edition — "ENGAGE FRICTION://designing through conflict" — explores how design can engage with the tensions of the present and turn them into opportunities for dialogue and change.

Participating institutions: Domus Academy, Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts – ALBA, Bahçeşehir University, Bucharest National University of Arts, College for Creative Studies, Coventry University Cairo, EDINBA, Heriot-Watt University Dubai, IADE, Institute of Creativity and Innovation, L'École de design Nantes Atlantique, Malmö University, Nottingham Trent University, School of Design Sushant University, Slovak University, Strate School of Design, Tecnológico de Monterrey, University of Michigan, University of Oregon.
