An immersive installation on the contemporary landscape of mobility
Milan Design Week 2026 | Teatro Alcione
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, the Teatro Alcione welcomes an immersive project promoted by Dongfeng that adopts the language of installation as a tool for reflection on the relationship between mobility, technology, and perception. More than a simple product presentation, the project is configured as an environment to be traversed, a spatial and sensory device capable of creating a tension between two different ideas of movement and of inhabiting the present.
At the center of the experience, two complementary natures confront each other, embodied by the MHERO and VOYAH Passion L vehicles. On one side, the dimension of strength, grip, and physical control of the terrain; on the other, a more rarefied and silent vision, made of ambient intelligence, comfort, and precision. It is not a rigid opposition, but rather the construction of a relational field, a perceptual threshold in which matter and light, power and restraint, presence and vision coexist in an unstable equilibrium.
The Teatro Alcione is thus transformed into an active architecture, in which the visitor is called not only to observe, but to take part in a sequence of spatial situations. The path is structured as a progression between different intensities, culminating in a central hub of light and sound: a scenic machine that periodically comes to life, synthesizing the two poles of the installation into a single image.
To this dimension is added the Light Harp, a vertical presence that translates human gesture into sound and light phenomena. Here, technology ceases to be merely performance and offers itself as a shared experience, as a possibility of building a sensitive relationship between body, space, and environment. Every interaction generates a trace, a variable sonic memory, which extends the project beyond the time of the visit and preserves its echo.
What emerges is an installation that does not only tell the story of two models, but stages a broader question about the future of mobility and the way in which design, today, can still construct imaginaries, atmospheres, and forms of experience.
